Setting it up

Unplug the tower before swapping cords, and let the old adapter cool if it has been running.
The plug seats in the socket under the base. Push until it stops; a half-seated plug is the usual reason a unit will not wake up.
Run the cable where no one walks. A cord yanked at the barrel end is what usually ends an adapter.
